Geena Davis is on diaper duty.
The Oscar-winning, bow-and-arrow-ready actress gave birth to a
baby girl Wednesday in
Los Angeles, her publicist, Paul Bloch, has announced.
The new addition is the first for the 46-year-old Davis and her
husband, surgeon Reza Jarrahy.
Bloch says Davis had a normal pregnancy and that the baby is
"beautiful and very healthy."
Mom is said to be "ecstatic" and dad is "very happy."
No other vital stats were disclosed--like the baby's name,
weight and length.
Davis married Jarrahy, 15 years her junior, last September
following a two-year courtship.
She had previously been hitched to restaurateur Richard Emmolo
from 1981-'83, frequent costar Jeff Goldblum (Transylvania
6-5000, The Fly, Earth Girls Are Easy) from '87-'90 and director
Renny Harlin (Cutthroat Island, The Long Kiss Goodnight) from
'93-'98.
Davis, who won a Supporting Actress Oscar for 1988's The
Accidental Tourist and also starred in hits like Tootsie, Thelma
and Louise, Beetlejuice and A League of Their Own, famously gave
up her Hollywood day job in 1999 to try to make the Olympics as
an archer. She made it as far as the semifinals for the U.S.
team before missing the cut.
